Appleway is the aspect of Paul's music that is written specifically for film scores and sync, taking the name from his Dad's music store that started in 1969 in Fort Collins, Colorado. Paul scored the short film Later Gator, and collaborated with West Thordson to score The Deep End (Hulu), My Daughter’s Killer (Netflix), and Queen of Bones. He also contributed music to Slava's Journey, Modern Love (Amazon), and composed for the re-release of Northern Exposure (NBC Peacock). Two short films Floaters, and Engineers that he scored were performed live with a small orchestra at Film Score Fest. In 2022, Paul was commissioned by the Mojave Project to write and perform a score in Death Valley for the 1923 silent film GREED and often works with a collection of Minneapolis composers for silents shown locally. Paul has written, recorded and produced albums for Black Label, Primary (APM), SyncStories/Humans Win and tracks distributed by Warner Chappell. His playing can be heard on Glass by M Night Shyamalan, and El Camino a Breaking Bad Movie. Along side Jim White, Paul produced Despechada for Ane Diaz, a more experimental collection of Venezuelan folk songs that was voted the best new Latin release on Billboard. Paul works with a plethora of ridiculously talented musicians, and shares Salon Sonics studios right smack on the Mississippi. We are capable of a very wide palate of sounds for just about any film project you might have.
